Corey Gray, Managing Director, Illumination & Smart City/IoT Technology Engineer

Corey founded LVX in 1993 and has over 25 years’ experience in the Lighting Industry. Corey has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science, a Diploma in Illumination Engineering, and has studied General Sciences at Adelaide University, Architecture and Sydney University and Night Landscape at La Sfacciata Lighting Academy in Florence, Italy. Corey is also a Technical Associate of IES: The Lighting Society and a professional artist specialising in painting and art-light-technology public installation works.

Corey’s knowledge, experience and expertise with Smart City and Internet of Things, (“IoT”), see him much sought-after in this field and he is currently advising and designing projects for various local government and government agencies in this and other areas including Western Australian Government, NSW Government, Qld Government, City of Perth, City of Unley, City of Playford, Brisbane City Council and Sunshine Coast Council.

Corey is also regularly engaged to provide Technical, Compliance and Aesthetic Design Peer Review services for clients including Brisbane’s Southbank Corporation, Brisbane Airport Corporation and WA Government’s Public Transport Authority.

From a design/aesthetic and corporate branding perspective Corey is regularly engaged to deliver bespoke solutions for projects including Australian Fashion Label’s Global Headquarters in Adelaide, St. Hugo’s Winery in the Barossa Valley, internationally acclaimed award winning restaurants such as Hentley Farm and Ferment Asian.

Being an artist himself Corey is also regularly engaged by other artists and galleries provide gallery curatorial services and to advise on the technical delivery and implementation of lighting and technology applications for public art.

Corey is currently working on several major projects including Brisbane Airport Corporation’s New Parallel Runway Project, the Mooloolaba Foreshore Renewal Project, the City of Unley Smart Precinct, City of Perth’s Smart Lighting and Digital Transformation Project, Resmed’s Sustainable Lighting Upgrade, Perth Zoo’s Sustainable Lighting Project, VeroGuard System’s new Manufacturing Facilities in Adelaide, and Henschke Wines new Cellar Door.


Brad Rowland, National Service Manager & Technical Systems Engineer

Brad is holds a Certificate III in Electro-technology systems and a Certificate III in Business Administration and has extensive experience with various other building and infrastructure controls technologies.

Brad joined LVX’s NSW Team in July 2014 as a controls and systems engineer.

In his 3 ½  years with LVX Brad’s skills, administration experience and attention to detail has seen him successfully deliver projects including Resmed’s Sustainable Car Park Lighting Upgrade, NSW Royal Botanic Gardens Smart Lighting and the City of Los Angeles Smart Node Project.

Brad’s team based, process focused approach, exceptional work ethic and willingness to learn saw him promoted to National Service Manager in mid-2016 and Brad is currently managing  LVX’s national portfolio of long term compliance services clients including Lion Nathan, Resmed, Murdoch University, Western Australian Government’s Public Transport Authority and Australian Submarine Corporation in Adelaide.


Rick Morrison, National Design & Engineering Manager

Rick has over 30 years’ experience in the Lighting Industry, is a registered Lighting Practitioner, (“RLP”), holds a Master’s Degree in Lighting Design and is a Member of IES: The Lighting Society.

Joining LVX’s Queensland Team in a national role in April 2016 Rick’s broad skills and extensive experience see him lead both the technical compliance and creative lighting design process for LVX’s wide array of projects as well as coordinate our other engineering disciplines including electrical, fire/life safety and technology.

Rick’s particular technical experience and expertise with AS/NZS 1158 and AS4282 exterior lighting design see him much sought-after in this field as daylight modelling for roadways and underpasses. Receiving regular engagements form clients including Queensland’s Transport & Main Roads Department, Brisbane City Council, New Zealand’s Transport & Main Roads Department, and various major consulting firms Rick was also an invited speaker on this topic at the Urban Transport 2017 Conference in Rome. Rick is also regularly engaged to provide Peer Review services for major infrastructure lighting design.

From a design/aesthetic perspective Rick has delivered signature projects including Queensland Performing Arts Centre, (“QPAC”), Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts and the Eddie Mabo Library at James Cook University.

Rick is currently working on several major projects including Brisbane Airport Corporation’s New Parallel Runway Project, the Mooloolaba Foreshore Renewal Project the Logan Enhancement Project and the Wooloongabba Bikeway.


Iain Tweedly, Project Manager & Technical Systems Engineer

Iain is holds a Certificate III in Electro-technology systems, Certificate III in Telecommunications, Certificate II in Air-conditioning and is a qualified Dynalite and C-Bus programmer with extensive experience with various other building and infrastructure controls technologies. Iain joined LVX’s Queensland Team in January 2016 as a senior controls engineer.

In his 2 years with LVX Iain’s skills, knowledge, experience and attention to detail has seen him successfully deliver on projects including Government of Western Australia’s Stadium Rail, East Perth Station and Wellington Street Busport, Roy Hill’s Remote Operations Centre, Lismore Base Hospital, Australian Fashion Labels’ Global Headquarters in Adelaide SA and St Hugo’s Winery flagship Cellar Door & Restaurant in the Barossa Valley.

Iain’s collaborative, process focused approach, clear communication, willingness to learn and strong attention to detail saw him move into a national major project management role in mid-2017 and Iain is currently working on projects including Brisbane Airport Corporation’s New Parallel Runway Project, the Curtin University Bus Interchange in Perth and VeroGuard System’s new high-tech manufacturing facilities in Adelaide.


Gráinne Flynn, Operations Manager Europe

Gráinne holds an Honours Degree in Interior Design and joined LVX’s Perth office in March 2013 as a project administrator and draftsperson for our design focused projects.

In her 5 years with LVX Gráinne’s client focused team approach has seen her successfully collaborate on projects such as Hentley Farm Restaurant, Ferment Asian Restaurant, St Hugo Winery as well as providing project administration, technical and quality control services to clients as diverse as City of Perth, Perth Zoo, Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation in Queensland, City of Darwin’s Sustainable Lighting Upgrade at its Woolner Facility and the Resmed Sustainable Lighting Upgrade at its Global Headquarters in Bella Vista Sydney.

In August 2017 Gráinne relocated to Dublin to establish LVX’s European operations however she continues to be involved in key projects in Australia including Brisbane Airport Corporation’s New Parallel Runway Smart Lighting installation at Dryandra Road, VeroGuard Systems’ new manufacturing facilities in the Edinburgh Defence Precinct north of Adelaide, SA and City of Unley’s Smart City Precinct in Adelaide, SA.


Dean Jones, National Operations Manager

Dean joined the LVX Team in February 2008 and as National Operations & Major Projects Manager lead LVX’s design team in electrical, as well as LVX’s delivery team in electrical, communications and technology.

Dean holds a Certificate III in Electro-technology systems has extensive experience in Large Scale Project Management and many building and infrastructure controls technologies.

In his ten years with LVX Dean has delivered projects as diverse as the Government of Western Australia – Public Transport Authority Smart Lighting roll-out to more than 50 stations, platforms, car parks, shunting yards and pedestrian crossings, as well as emergency lighting technology to Fiona Stanley Hospital, Perth Children’s Hospital and Perth Stadium, and Smart City Technology to NSW Royal Botanic Gardens and City of Los Angeles.

Dean is part of the LVX ownership group. He is currently managing several of LVX’s major projects including Smart Lighting Technology delivery for Brisbane Airport Corporation’s Dryandra Underpass, (part of the $1.4bn New Parallel Runway Expansion), Emergency Lighting Technology for Campbell Barracks in WA and technology and building systems for the new VeroGuard Systems manufacturing Facility in Edinburgh Defence Precinct in South Australia.


Chad Ollenburg, Systems Technician

Chad is holds a Certificate III in Electro-technology systems and has extensive experience with building systems technology.

Chad joined LVX’s Queensland Team in November 2013 as a controls and systems engineer.

In over 4 years with LVX Chad’s technical and organisation skills saw him promoted in January 2018 to Technical Services Manager for LVX’s Central & Eastern Compliance Operations. In this role Chad is the key client commercial and technical liaison for long term compliance services clients including Stockland Hervey Bay, St Stephen’s Hospital, Patheon Biologics, Translational Research Institute, NEXT Hotel and 4 Points by Sheraton.


Glen Reed, Technical Systems Manager

Glen holds a Certificate III in Electro-technology systems and has an extensive experience with various building and infrastructure controls technologies including lighting, automation and PLC systems.

Glen joined LVX’s NSW Team in October 2014 as a controls and systems engineer.

In his 3 ½ years with LVX Glen’s technical skills, combine with his enthusiasm for new challenges and client focused approach has made him extremely popular with his client base that includes Resmed, Macquarie Bank, Iron Mountain and Park Hyatt Sydney.


 Matt Bloom, Technical Systems Manager

Matt holds an Electrical Installation Certificate, (BS7671), and has extensive experience with emergency lighting systems and technology.

Matt joined LVX’s WA Team in May 2013 as a systems technician and was soon leading the emergency lighting life safety systems technology upgrade at Murdoch University in which LVX audited over 110 buildings, designed and documented the technology based compliance solution, and delivered an upgrade of over 3,500 luminaires over 4 campuses.

Matt’s role has developed to that of senior system technical and client management in WA for LVX’s large corporate compliance and technology clients including Murdoch University, The Pubic Transport Authority, QV.1 Building, Roy Hill and Dexus. Matt has also been instrumental in the successful delivery of large scale projects including Fiona Stanley Hospital, Perth Stadium Station and New Perth Stadium.


Chris van der Woude

Chris van der Woude is a licenced A Class Electrician with 20 years’ experience in both the
industrial and commercial contracting sectors. For the latter part of his career, Chris has specialised in the management of industry award winning, multi-disciplinary service and maintenance contracts in Iron Ore and Oil & Gas sectors. Chris’s previous work  experiences includes roles in project management, business development, estimating, and project supervision, resulting in a thorough understanding of the go to whoa process of construction. Chris has a certificate IV in Project Management and Front-line Management and is an Appointed Persons (Section 44).

Chris’s technical expertise, leadership skills and commitment to Health & Safety have been fundamental to his success in securing and delivering long-term maintenance contracts in excess of 20 million dollars.

Chris applies this passion for project and people development in his role as WA State Manager for LVX. Chris will be based in our Perth office overseeing engineering, projects and compliance service contracts.
